home.pngLego Mania!

Come explore EVERYthing Lego! We'll build with Legos, of course, but you'll also have a chance to explore web sites where you can find and share designs, use (free) Lego design software, create a group Lego web site, publish a book about Legos, or maybe even build your own Lego USB jump drive!

You'll have a few chances to bring in your own models to display, but otherwise, leave your Legos at home, and, please leave all our Legos at camp!

Schedule & Supplies

Please bring a snack and lunch each day. We'll start each day with free time, during which students can explore Legos and Lego-oriented web sites. By 9:30, we will have a group meeting to discuss activities and goals for the day. Each day we will introduce a different construction technique or style or a different technical application (finding plans, submitting plans, building with virtual Legos, blogging, mini-movies, etc.). We will have time to explore, followed by a mid-morning break, after which we will introduce another technique, tool or activity. We'll close with a time to share our creations and activities and a lunch break, and a final clean-up before parents arrive.

Campers will be able to leave works-in-progress from one day to the next. Please bring in an old sheet or table cloth that your child can use to spread out Legos on the floor. This will help keep projects separate and make clean-up a lot easier!

Kirsti Haugen will lead this camp, with an assistant. Kirsti is a teacher and an Edison parent who has led the afterschool publishing program and digital animation classes at Edison as well as other classes for kids, parents and teachers on digital images and photography, blogging, wikis, and much more.
